Meridian Gray Culpepper is a director and storyboard artist from Carmel, Indiana. After beginning her career at Pixar Animation Studios and later working in the Story Department at Skydance Animation on WondLa, she founded Herringbone Animation in 2024, creating dark, auteur-driven animated stories for young adult and adult audiences.

Her credits include directing the award winning credit sequence for Did You Remember the Cat?, writing and directing the short film Planet Jane, and serving as Executive Producer and Showrunner of the animated anthology series Fables.

Inspired by folklore, psychological horror, and character-driven drama, Meridian’s work explores themes of identity, belonging, and transformation. She is passionate about expanding the narrative possibilities of independent animation, creating films that challenge audiences emotionally while embracing the imaginative and entertaining spirit of the medium.
